Frequently Asked Questions

  • Assistance with guiding students through complex topics, notes, Q&A sessions, correction of homework (exam questions).

  • Yes it is. Only one topic can be taught per session so that it can be taught to a high standard. Also at least 24 hours notice must be given if a student wishes to change the topic to be covered in their session

  • Additional tuition can be booked (in bundles or as a single session). Also topics requested can be changed and additional tuition for a topic previously covered can be given at a later session.

  • A small amount of homework will be given for science tutoring on specific topics. This homework will be based on past exam questions and be corrected by me.

  • In order to ensure high quality, individualised tutoring, only one topic will be covered per Science Tutoring session.

  • At least 24 hours before each session, students need to send on copies of the homework for correction, highlight any areas in the topic that they are finding difficult and ensure that they are prepared for the lesson (i.e. have a working computer with wi-fi/camera/audio and notebook / pen).

  • No. Recordings of sessions are not available.

  • This depends on the number of sessions booked. It can include the following; discussion of planned project, learning objectives for the subject CBA project, grading criteria, suggested process to follow, notes, review of project with suggested areas of improvements.

  • The following subjects can be supported for classroom based assessments: English, Maths, History, Geography, French, Science, Business Studies, Religion, Home Economics, Classical Studies.

  • At least 24 hours before each session, students need to send me a copy of their project, including a brief description of what they did since the last session, what they plan to do next and what challenges they are facing.

  • No. I provide the roadmap for success, requirement breakdown and improvement suggestions (dependent on number of sessions booked). The students produce the work.

  • Yes, I can provide support with layout, clarity, visuals and presenting practice.

  • The minimum number of CBA sessions is 1 per subject (to get an overview of what is needed and how best to achieve your top marks). Three sessions are highly recommended to allow you get an overview of what is needed, how to optimise your grade, suggestions on how to improve your project and a final review in terms of layout etc. Additional sessions can be scheduled, with the price dependent on the number of additional sessions required.

  • Students will receive notes on a session-by-session basis. If students and/or parents have concerns they should contact me directly so that these can be addressed. Parents will be notified if students do not attend sessions and fail to cancel the cession before the 24-hour notice period. Parents will also be notified if multiple reschedulings take place.

  • Yes. As tutoring is provided online, as long as students have internet access and a computer, online tutoring can be provided across Ireland on evenings and weekends.

  • Cancellations can take place at any time. Refunds or rescheduling of a session can occur if cancellation occurs at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, then a refund will not be given.

  • There must be at least 24 hours between booking a session and the session taking place. This allows adequate time for all parties to prepare for the session.

  • Yes, refunds are available dependent on the notice given. Refunds or rescheduling of a session can occur if cancellation occurs at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, then a refund will not be given.
